if someone accesses your personal information. Follow the steps in Repairing & Resetting Your PS4
to reset your PS4.
Cleaning Your PS4
You can get more money for your PS4 by spending 5 to 10 minutes cleaning it so it looks nice. Condition is one of the factors of how pawn shops determine value. Follow the steps below to safely clean your PlayStation 4:
- Turn off the PlayStation 4 and unplug it from the power source.
- Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the exterior of the PlayStation console.
- Dip a cotton swab in rubbing alcohol and use it to clean the PlayStation console vents, ports, and other small areas.
- Use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to remove dust and debris from the PlayStation vents.
- Wipe down the PlayStation controllers and other accessories with a damp cloth.
- Allow the console to air dry before plugging it back in and turning the PlayStation console on.
Repairing & Resetting Your PS4
PlayStation 4 consoles usually do not break
in the traditional sense. However, a PS4 can malfunction due to a variety of reasons,
such as a power surge, overheating, or a hardware defect. If your PS4 console is malfunctioning, your local pawn shop
will probably make an offer for your console, or they may give you a very low offer. You should try repairing or resetting
your PS4 before bringing it into the pawn shop.
Tips to repair a broken PS4:
- Check the power cord and HDMI cable for any damage. Try replacing the HDMI cable.
- Make sure the power outlet is working properly. Try changing power outlets.
- Check the power settings in the system settings.
- Reset the PS4 by holding down the power button for 7 seconds.
- Check the disc drive for any damage or debris. You can use an air duster for electronics to blow away dust and debris. Be careful touching sensitive areas of your PS4 - oil from your hands can damage the console.
- If all else fails, contact Sony for repair or replacement.
If your PS4 powers on but has problems, you can try resetting the console by following these steps:
